Created in Late 2009 by Andrey Ternovskiy • Discovered in Late 2022In late 2009, 17-year-old high school student Andrey Ternovskiy launched Chatroulette (chatroulette.com/app) from his bedroom in Moscow. It ignited a worldwide cultural sensation, proving for the first time in human history that pressing a single button to face another random human being on camera could spark spontaneous wonder, artistic collaboration, and authentic serendipity.
BDQP was born from that timeless inspiration: taking the raw, magical thrill of spontaneous webcam roulette and advancing it into an articulate, addiction-free sanctuary shielded by modern real-time AI safety moderation, 9-party group video matrices, and verified human connections.

Created the Linux operating system kernel upon which our dedicated servers (`srv.bdqp.in`) run, providing BBR TCP congestion control, high-throughput socket networking, and kernel-level iptables packet filtering.
Pioneered the free software movement and created the GNU core utilities, toolchains, and copyleft licensing philosophy that made open-source server ecosystems possible.
Created MySQL and MariaDB, the rock-solid relational database engine powering BDQP's transaction ledger, RBAC permissions, member profiles, and real-time security logging.
